Purpose

Prepares and compiles records in the Health Care Center. Position is Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm.

Essential Functions

  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and/or Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Interacts with residents/clients with patience, understanding and kindness in accord with ACS’s mission and core values.
  • Ensures and maintains residents’ rights and privacy.
  • Maintains medical record charts on residents in unit.
  • Obtains necessary authorizations regarding the release of patient information.
  • Requisitions supplies designated by nursing staff.
  • Answers telephone and intercom calls and provides information or relays information to patients and medical staff.
  • Directs visitors to residents’ rooms.
  • Distributes mail, newspapers, and flowers to residents.
  • Assists with arranging appointments and obtaining transportation for residents.
  • Assists with carrying out physician’s orders under the direction of the nursing staff.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Manual.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in using a computer including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook. PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.
