P.I.E. Management, LLC a temporary staffing agency is seeking Counter Clerks for a county jail in Racine, Wisconsin.

This position is responsible for a wide range of duties including answering phones, collecting bond payments; receiving mail, medication, and property; releasing property (keys), create new files, entering and updating computer information, filing, faxing, emailing, and other duties as assigned by Jail Supervisors. At this post you are also required to monitor the Public Entrance lobby and assist the public with questions and concerns regarding the County Jail and the inmates it houses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure important pass-on information is given regarding any ongoing activities, existing emergency, or other conditions.
• Maintain a secure facility by controlling admittance to authorized personnel entering the Jail through the Public Entrance lobby. This entrance is essentially for Law Enforcement and Jail Personnel ONLY. Special access may be permitted by Jail Supervisors and Command Staff.
• Answer telephone calls professionally.
• Collect bond payments and update computer records/files as necessary.
• Mark all cash with counterfeit detector pens and have all cash over $1,000 confirmed and signed by a second party.
• Receive prescription medications and glasses (with script) for inmates.
• Release keys from inmate property to family/friends.
• Create new hard copy files for arrested persons and enter charge and bond information into the computer system.
• Update records for inmate files in the computer system from physical paperwork received from officers, courts, facsimile, etc.
• File inmate folders and paperwork in the appropriate cabinets or the file holders on the Holding/Sergeant’s desk.
• Execute other duties, assignments, and special orders as directed by your direct supervisor and/or jail supervisory staff.
• Ability to pass a drug and background check.
