Electrical Engineer

OTTO's opportunity:

Our Electrical Engineer is responsible for concept through production product development, as well as technical support in the resolution of field and production issues. Background in audio circuitry is desired.

Specifically, the Electrical Engineer will:

• Analog/Digital circuit design, prototyping, and performance evaluation to meet customer and/or internal specifications
• Component specification and selection
• Generate schematics, bills-of-material (BOMs), and provide PCB layout guidance
• Evaluate and document product performance to customer specifications
• Technical sales support
• Determine production test requirements
• Assist Production to automate test equipment as needed
• Ongoing support of existing products
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales
• Maintain required engineering documentation: schematics, BOM's, ECN's, drawings, layouts
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned

What you'll need to bring to the table:

• BSEE
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in concept-through-production product development
• Audio and Analog circuit design experience (OpAmps, Filters, Transistor Circuitry, Codecs, Power Supplies, etc)
• Digital and microprocessor circuit design experience
• Schematic Entry (Altium experience is a plus)
• Some embedded coding experience is a plus
• EMC and Intrinsically Safe (UL, ATEX, FM) circuit experience a plus
• Experience using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Self-motivated, proactive
• Able to effectively schedule work and communicate issues and status in a timely fashion
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
• Attention to detail, results-oriented problem solver, critical thinker
• Able to work effectively as an individual contributor or on team projects
• Strong oral and written communication skills
