Luster National Inc., a minority-owned small business headquartered in Mill Valley, California, with offices nationwide, a highly respected Program, Project, Construction and Consulting Management company, is seeking an Environmental Specialist as part of a team that works to manage the planning and environmental oversight of a large complex infrastructure program.

About the position:

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and requires minimal supervision, capable to interface with the client, and has the business acumen to deliver work product using quantative metrics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Highly motivated Environmental NEPA/CEQA Planner to assist with the management of environmental projects of various sizes.
  • Oversee all aspects of environmental projects including scope, schedule, and budget
  • Provide technical NEPA/CEQA guidance
  • Prepare NEPA/CEQA documents including planning, managing, analysis and review of technical studies
  • Assist with public outreach activities
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the NEPA/CEQA process for transportation projects, environmental procedures, and expectations
  • Work will be accomplished independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices
  • The position will be responsible for operating successfully as part of an interdisciplinary team and coordinating with team members.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Self starter, excellent communication skills, highly analytical, and capable of conducting presentation on environmental issues
  • abilty to interface with state and federal environmental agencies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in, environmental planning, environmental science or related fields of study
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NEPA/CEQA
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and staff management skills
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CA PE or RA, PMP, CCM, Advanced degree
  • Transit experience
  • Prior employement with a US federal agency such as US Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Railroad, or US Fish and Wildlife

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
