The Embassy Suites by Hilton, Located near the Charlotte Airport, is looking for a part time Banquet Cook. The person hired for this position will work day and evening shifts and must have weekend availability.

We are paying a $250 Sign-On Bonus*

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Reviews and follows event BEO
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Previous catering or banquet experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must possess manual dexterity, must be able to stand for long periods of time, have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, and operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
