Zycron has joined with a public sector client in search of a of VMware System Administrator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain the Server environment including hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Handles daily technical support activities on data network, and server management.
• Assists with company infrastructure planning, implementation, and improvements.
• Performs regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Monitors progress of service requests and updates ticketing systems.
• Performs enterprise patch management program to ensure all systems are up to date.
• Provides technical support for escalated issues and works with vendors to resolve more complex issues.
• Works with assigned manager and other support staff to ensure requests are routed to the proper resources to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
• Leads and facilitates special projects related to job function for the division.
• Documents internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
• Follows up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.
• Provides documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and four (4) years’ experience as a Systems Administrator or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.
• Working experience with Microsoft Office Suites and Microsoft Active Directory is required. Extensive Knowledge in VMWare (VMW) virtualization technology and Veeam Backup software solution is a plus
