The Woodward Vice President of Marketing and Sales will be responsible for all functions related to marketing and sales efforts across the Woodward platform, including Woodward global brand and marketing efforts, marketing and sales efforts for Woodward business categories (Mountain Centers, Camps, Urban Centers), as well as brand/marketing oversight & support of Woodward integrated experiences.
As a senior leadership team member of the 'Woodward Global Brand' division of POWDR, reporting directly to the President of Woodward, the Woodward Vice President of Marketing & Sales will play a key role in global brand management of all Woodward branded experiences with focus on collaboratively developing product and marketing strategies in conjunction with the Woodward Global Brand senior leadership team. Additionally, this position will lead marketing strategy at each Business Category and Business Unit and will provide oversight of the tactical execution of approved marketing plans across all Woodward businesses.

What it's all about:

As Vice President of Marketing and Sales, you'll be responsible for leading some critical areas including the following:

  • Developing and owning go-to-market strategies for products and experiences, driving ROI with clear metrics and measurement.
  • Driving the evolution of the global brand positioning to build the image and awareness of Woodward as the undisputed leader in action sports.
  • Collaborating and leading across the organization, serving as a mentor and coach among all of the Woodward marketing teams across a broad set of functions including product marketing, partner marketing, content marketing and brand marketing.

Requirements:
Areas where you'll have significant impact & contribution:

Brand Management and Marketing Strategy:

  • Work closely with the President and senior leadership team to establish and build best-in-class brand and marketing awareness and engagement
  • Build, manage and drive the global marketing, branding and sales strategies for business units and categories
  • Oversee the global, business categories and business units brand campaigns, social, and other channels to ensure alignment and articulation of Woodward positioning, perspective, look, feel, and goals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive go to market marketing and sales plans that drive accelerated revenue growth, including targeted paid advertising, online and offline events, content marketing, influencer marketing and digital channel marketing and engagement
  • Utilize deep knowledge of digital & offline channels and tools to build a brand, customer base, and community-driven content that converts to sales across the portfolio
  • Make data-driven decisions, stay current on market trends and competitive landscape and establish metrics approach to brand-building strategies and to drive business benefits
  • Develop and manage global marketing budget, co-develop and oversight of all business unit and business category marketing budgets; track ROI on marketing efforts, initiatives and special projects

Sales Management and Sales Strategy:

  • Develop and implement effective sales plans, strategies, and programs to drive growth, generate revenue and grow market share for business units and business categories
  • Manage and ensure the execution of sales processes and leverage appropriate resources to drive sales objectives. Devise marketing and sales strategies to acquire and retain customers
  • Lead the sales team to develop and grow relationships to generate new leads, referrals, and sales channels and proactively solicit and follow-up on sales leads.
  • Work with finance teams to set pricing strategies for products.

Preferred Experience/Special Skills:
  • Experience working with sales and marketing teams to develop annual strategies and strategic plans that attract new customers and retain existing ones
  • Analyze sales numbers in comparisons to the marketing budget in order to find the profit margin and which campaigns were the most effective relative to the cost per acquisition and return on ad spend.
  • Collaborate with executives to make high level decision regarding the budget and direction of the business
  • Ability to drive the evolution of the brand positioning by bringing it to life in a clear and consistent way that resonates with and motivates our target audiences.
  • Excellent time management and organization to meet deadlines
  • Technology savvy in a variety of marketing channels and software

Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years of senior level brand and marketing leadership experience
  • Proven track record of growing revenue through new product development, marketing, branding, and partnerships
  • Strong analytical, big picture thinking and leadership skills to develop brand, marketing and sales campaigns aimed at increasing loyalty, retention, and the lifetime value of guests.
  • Proven ability to analyze reports, dashboards, data, business metrics and other tools to make critical decisions and recommendations to help lead the company to achieve its objectives and goals.
