VCA Midtown Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our leadership team!

About Us

We are a well-established, AAHA-accredited 8-doctor practice, offering Primary Care, Urgent Care, Surgery, Dentistry, and more. We are open 7am - 10 pm every day, exclusively Urgent Care on Saturdays and Sundays.

We have modern equipment, a dedicated dental suite, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, etc. Our facility in Ansley Square Shopping Center is convenient to Piedmont Park, Morningside, and Midtown.

Flexible scheduling includes 8 or 10 hours shifts, day shift or swing shift available, including some weekends and holidays.

About the Role

As Technician Supervisor, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of our patient care team. You will have the support of our hospital and field leadership in this role.

Skills that you will be utilizing (and teaching!) include:

  • Patient assessment and triage
  • Compassionate patient care
  • Client care and education
  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Dentistry
  • Radiology
  • Laboratory work
  • Venipuncture
  • Catheter placement
  • Pharmacy
  • Patient recovery
  • Medical record keeping

Supervisory duties will include:

  • Team leadership, training, development and support
  • Implementing policies and procedures
  • Scheduling staff and conducting team meetings
  • Assist with maintenance of facility, equipment, inventory, ordering
  • Patient and client management
  • Accurately handling and recording controlled drugs
  • Recordkeeping

Flexible scheduling will include some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Georgia Veterinary Technician license (LVT) or eligible
  • Two or more years of veterinary technician experience required
  • Prior Technician leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with Primary Care and Urgent Care is preferred
