American Commercial Barge Line - ACBL Memphis, TN 38106

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to remain on vessel for 28 day rotating assignments
  • Prepare meals in conformance with Company nutrition standards
  • Order sufficient quantities to support the crew’s nutritional requirements
  • Work closely with vessel master to ensure vessel budgets are maintained
  • Maintain the galley and all its utensils and equipment in accordance with Company sanitation requirements in all areas that are used for food storage
  • Conduct job briefings with self and other crew (as needed) prior to starting a new task / galley crew change
  • Ability to follow all safety requirements of the job

Educational Requirements:
ServeSafe Certification before orientation

Specific Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 years professional cooking experience preferred
  • Cooking experience in the maritime industry preferred
  • Must be ServSafe Certified
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety and work related instructions. Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to plan extended menus and order appropriate supplies within budgetary requirements
  • Ability to live on a vessel for a rotation of at least 28 days
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) by time of interview/or receipt at interview
  • Must have a Valid Driver's license

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years: Years of Experience

Education

  • High School/GED or better
