National Team-Engineering (NT-E) is MDA’s one-stop shop for systems engineering reach-back into the major companies that build the essential elements of the MDS.

Engineers on the National Team are helping to drive the future systems that will protect the United States, its friends and allies for generations to come.

The National Team has an immediate need for a Software Engineer to perform the following tasks in Huntsville, Alabama:
  • The National Team Tools Team candidate will work as part of a small team to design, develop, test, document and support software and automation tools that enable the National Team to more efficiently accomplish engineering activities in support of the Missile Defense Agency.

  • The candidate will assess the needs of the NT-E user base, then determine improvements to the current toolset and propose new solutions for needs not yet addressed.

  • The candidate will document and commit their code through version control and will document the tools for the user.

  • The candidate will familiarize themselves with the details of the current automation tools such that users will be able to rely on them for help and they are able to debug code issues.

  • The candidate will also assist the team in the configuration and administration of the DOORS and Cameo environments as needed, creating accounts and groups, workspaces and completing other administrative tasks.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

The candidate must posess a strong grasp of object oriented programming concepts and should have experience using an Object Oriented language (C++, Java, Python, etc.).

The candidate must be able to think critically to derive simple, intuitive solutions to complex customer problems.

The candidate must have a willingness and proclivity for leaning new programming languages.

The candidate must have good writing, organization and communication / collaboration skills.

Ability to assume a technical leadership role.

Previous experience with DXL, VBA, VTL, and Java. Previous experience utilizing/administrating DOORS, Cameo and/or System Architect.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 6 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
