Description:The primary responsibility of the Security Guard is to deter and address instances of theft, vandalism and violence against the resort and its employees and guests.
Guards, patrols, or monitors premises to insure the safety and security of guests and staff, and to prevent theft, violence, or rule infractions. Assist any persons on premises needing directions or information. Responds to alarms, decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations. Prepares written reports of daily activities.
Responds to situations per established guidelines and company emergency response plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries radio or phone, which is used to listen to calls requesting safety or security assistance.
  • May carry gun, baton, taser or other devices designed to give security officers the ability to control potentially dangerous situations.
  • Patrols on foot throughout the perimeters of the property including utilizing the mule.
  • Patrols parking lots, buildings and the general grounds of the resort and attempts to identify potential criminal activity and/or inappropriate conduct.
  • Inspect campgrounds and surrounding properties.
  • Utilizes security cameras when directed by GM and HR, otherwise limited viewing.
  • Serves as ambassador of the Resort by providing support to Front Desk Agents and MODs.
  • Makes self visible to deter criminal activity and to give guests a sense of safety.
  • Responds to specific departments, as needed.
  • Directs and manages parking for guests and employee traffic during busy holidays and weekends.
  • Works with the General Manager to create a crisis management team and protocols.
  • Monitors posted speed limit on property.
  • Circulates through the public to help prevent or remove disturbances
  • Regularly inspects emergency red phones throughout the property.
  • Answer alarms speedily and investigate problems on the property.
  • Act appropriately in the case of an emergency.
  • Call the police or other emergency personnel when needed.
  • Assists in investigations, if directed by General Manager or HR Manager.
  • Coordinates activities when local authorities come on property to investigate, as directed by General Manager or HR Manager.
  • Assists, on a case-by-case basis with employee relations such as terminations, as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Assists Manager on Duty in investigating guest incidences i.e., disruption in a room or guest injury.
  • Reviews potential job applicants (applications), prior to the resume/applications being forwarded to managers.
  • Coordinates First Aid supplies with assigned MOD, and checks AED, monthly.
  • As needed, assists with shipping and receiving at Administration building.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and be physically fit to work an entire 4-8 hour shift.
  • Military or police experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of self-defense is a plus.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Must have an extremely high moral standard and be a responsible, mature individual.
  • Must have good decision-making ability.
  • Must have a strong sense of honesty and above-average strength.
  • Must have the mental stamina to sustain this as well, always remaining alert to all the goings on at the resort.
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb ladders, climb stairs, push, pull and lift items weighing 40-50 pounds.
  • Must have an exemplary background check with no criminal record or drug history.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • If required to carry a gun, must have weapons experience; be qualified as required by law: or a college degree in law enforcement or police sciences.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
