The community you’ll be caring for: Radiation Oncology

The role you’ll contribute:

The Radiation Oncology Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Radiation Oncology therapists and nurses in all locations as it relates to planning, directing, coordinating, staffing and controlling.

Participates in the development and enforces hospital policies and procedures. Ensures that department procedures and protocols are carried out with major responsibility to maintaining technical quality control, optimum staffing efficiency, and staying current in new therapy treatment concepts and procedures. The manager is authorized and delivers treatment to patients ranging from adult to geriatric.

  • Hires, evaluates, directs, and schedules the departmental staff. Disciplines, terminates, and manages departmental staff when required with input from the medical director, director and physicist.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including budget, purchasing, inventory, and capital purchases.
  • Maintains technical and clerical integrity of departmental patient charts and records through accepted standards.
  • Oversees radiographic verification of treatment portals and review according to physician’s
  • Performs all tasks as listed in the radiation therapist’s job description associated with the delivery of the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy in an organized and timely manner to meet daily schedules and with a minimum of supervision.
  • Continually works toward projecting and promoting a courteous and cooperative Radiation
  • Oncology department and suggests ideas to improve in increase efficiency and productivity
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:


  • Completion of a two-year associates’ degree program in Radiation Therapy, or completion of an approved Radiation Therapy Program
  • Three years clinical experience required
  • One or more years of Management experience and/or proven leadership skills
