PSYCHOLOGIST
REPORTS TO: Special Education Director
SALARY: As per LSAA contract
EFFECTIVE DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: start of the SY 2023/24
Performance Responsibilities
- Complete psychological evaluations of students based on team referral question(s) and develop written reports based on assessment findings. These evaluations may include: Administration of standardized psychological testing, student observations, interviews and data collection with student/family/staff/outside agencies, etc.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings to determine special education eligibility
- Review and interpret outside evaluations and participate in meetings to report
findings to team
- Continuously assess testing procedures and instruments to ensure compliance
with best-practices for assessment and to assist in determining access to a variety
of updated testing instruments
- Maintain inventories of testing and assessment supplies
- Conduct all necessary and prescribed conferences with parents, teachers, school
administrators, consultants, related outside agencies, and supportive services
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, specialists, and administrative staff to support
student functioning and to aid with data review
- Initiate, complete, and maintain all required forms and records pertaining to
psychological services in accordance with State and School Department
regulations.
- Maintain proper records of referrals, case loads, and evaluations
- Assist with and/or conduct professional development/training to staff, as
requested
- Collaborate with Special Education Director and staff regarding current and
potential special education procedures
- Participate as a member of the Teacher Assistance Team, as applicable and as
requested
- Conduct academic assessments under exceptional and isolated circumstances to
assist Special Education Teachers with this job duty as determined by the Director
of Special Education
- Perform such duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
Requirements:
- CAGS/Ed.S. or equivalent from an accredited college or university
- Licensure valid for service as a school psychologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Experience as a school psychologist in a public school system or recognized public or private clinical facility preferred
- Bilingual Spanish or Khmer proficiency preferred
