Dart Container is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team!


As a Project Engineer you will manage multiple tasks in parallel while communicating effectively with internal and external teams. You will work to prepare budgets, plans and timelines including, resourcing, and status and recap reports. You will also have the opportunity to lead a variety of tasks including, budget tracking, scheduling, updating and compiling project documentation, facilitating meetings, and tracking resolution of project issues.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Participate in and complete projects or programs of minimal size, scope, and duration
  • Develop knowledge of processes, equipment, raw materials, and products
  • Develop knowledge of project management methodologies and software
  • Assist in developing project plan, schedules and work plans, estimating resources and costs, and tracking and reporting documents
  • Assist in defining the project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Document and track project plan
  • Maintain continuous alignment of project scope with defined strategic business objectives
  • Monitor progress of projects, identify problems impeding progress, and participate in their resolution
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Participate in troubleshooting, analysis, evaluation, implementation, and documentation of engineering solutions that affect products, processes, components, assemblies, and/or equipment
  • Conduct project-related research
  • Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information, draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
  • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions
  • Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions
  • Recommend continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
  • Coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters
  • Mentor other team members


Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

Associate Project Manager

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study, OR
    • Associate’s degree and six (6) years of related engineering experience
  • Ability to learn project management methodologies and software
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Ability to learn and understand raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks in both team and independent environments
  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Up to 40% domestic and international travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire


Project Engineer

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience, OR
    • Associate’s degree and nine (9) years of related engineering experience
  • Proven experience and success in analyzing production equipment, processes and materials, and solving issues
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
  • Knowledge of thermoforming, injection molding, print, and/or paper equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of and experience using project management methodologies and software
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Bachelor’s degree
