About This Role:
Primary focus of the Production Coordinator is to serve as the front-line defense for resolving production issues. Production Coordinator ensures the build schedule is being adhered to and escalates issues to supervisor that cannot be readily resolved. Assist the supervisor to achieve the daily production schedules and quality goals. Provide guidance and be a source of information for operators and support groups in the area. Coordinates the documentation, training and provides inputs for performance appraisal and assists in the employee selection process.

Your responsibilities will Include:

  • Coordinates daily work direction for manufacturing personnel.
  • Assist the supervisor in supporting and developing action plans to achieve the departmental goals.
  • Coach, train, motivate and enhance the morale and self-esteem of manufacturing personnel.
  • Disposition and process discrepant product or material for rework or MRB according to procedures.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing personnel follow the appropriate procedures. Understand all operations support systems including traceability and documentation systems.
  • Provide feedback for use in performance appraisals and periodic coaching of manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure the training of new manufacturing personnel to the team.
  • Act as liaison for manufacturing and support groups such as engineering, technicians, production control and management.
  • When supervisor is absent, may temporarily act as supervisor.
  • Understands, adheres to and promotes safety policies and practices.
  • Responsible for quality and adheres to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP). Proactively identifies and communicates quality issues and concerns; actively pursues resolution of issues by utilizing all resources.
  • Responsible for coordination and prioritization of production and/or pilot build schedules, and determines ability to meet the requirements.
  • Establishes relationships and acts as a liaison to proactively communicate between all cross-functional teams by utilizing effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to plan, in advance, resources and supplies in order to meet business needs.
  • Proficient within job related computer programs or databases (examples: Special Work Request (SWR), SAP, Microsoft Access, etc.).
  • Demonstrates, promotes and suggests ideas for Lean Manufacturing and other continuous improvement initiatives. Takes an active leadership role in developing and driving Lean activities, including Born Lean strategies.
  • Maintains accurate records, including shop floor paperwork (SFP), work requests and site specific documentation. Consistently monitors team records to ensure accuracy.
  • Understands and ensures compliance of BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for attending and passing all required core BSC and site-specific training (i.e. QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training).

Required qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • 7 years of manufacturing experience


Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MES/SAP
  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing
  • Leadership experience
  • Lean & standard work experience/knowledge
