MAIN FUNCTION:

Manage all aspects of an assigned product line addressing the needs of all sales channels (Consumer, Commercial and OEM). Define product requirements and drive strategic direction, roadmap, messaging, and competitive analysis to achieve growth targets and overall success of PNY’s product initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, management, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of product management/marketing experience, consumer electronics or consumer packaged goods experience is ideal.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in participating in cross-functional teams
  • Technical competency, business acumen, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

  • PNY Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Marketing Operations, Engineering, Planning and Procurement groups

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Category/Product Strategy and Go-to-Market Planning and Execution

  • Keep abreast of marketplace activity including market share, key performance drives, trends and new product/technology development and communicate learnings/implications/actions to management
  • Develop category objectives, strategy and market plans
  • Develop and implement initiatives and product strategies to drive category sales in all channels (Consumer, Commercial and OEM) in North America
  • Participate in meetings and calls with global offices/counterparts

Product Lifecycle and Portfolio Management

  • Drive excess inventory management activities; work with Sales and Planning teams on developing opportunities
  • Drive product lifecycle management initiatives; i.e. SKU maintenance and rationalization
  • Update/maintain presentations including roadmaps and channel maps
  • Distribute Marketing Bulletins for launches, updates, and EOL’d products, etc.

Product Support

  • Work with Engineering and Quality Teams on creating and managing Part Numbers, ECOs, BOMs, and EDAs
  • Actively participate and assist in discussions with Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Graphic Design, and Sales on topics relating to each functional department’s respective area
  • Manage and drive content on www.pny.comand customer e-tail sites/CNET (A+/rich content)
  • Develop and execute secondary display vehicles from design inception to product ship
  • Create overview presentations for internal and external use
  • Manage product sample and information requests to support marketing and brand awareness initiatives
  • Drive creation of Marketing collateral for current products to drive sales and support marketing campaigns (sell sheets, web banners, web landing pages, etc.)

New Product Development

  • Lead product ideas through all phases of PDG model to launch by leading evaluation, recommendations, presentations and development
  • Drive ideation via vendor and customer discussions, trade shows, marketplace learnings and employee idea program to fuel the future roadmap
  • Lead cross-functional team including Procurement, Production Planning, Engineering and NPI Team in planning and execution of new product launches
  • Lead packaging development process for new launches and line extensions
  • Provide component requirements and direction for bill of material (BOM) development

Sales Team Support

  • Engage with customers/buyers on new product launches and key marketing initiatives via conference calls and visits
  • Collaborate with Sales in the development and implementation of initiatives focused on channel marketing, SWOT & competitive analysis, product positioning, collateral/launch materials preparation, promotional planning, rebates, etc.
  • Provide product assortment recommendations and product slides to Sales for customer presentations, including merchandising recommendations.
  • Develop sales tools, training guides, etc.

Pricing

  • Provide key inputs into pricing development including market insights, new product costs and SKU/part number lists.
  • Create and manage weekly price files
  • Gather, update, analyze weekly competitive analysis data
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and seasonal promotional calendar and provide on-going updates to Sales

Promotions

  • Create promotions to stimulate product category sales, awareness and brand equity and reduce emphasis on price.
