Mission: The Link works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice.

Our 23 programs provide supportive housing, intensive case management services, and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system.

The Link prides itself on its innovative, youth-centered, strengths-based programming for youth and families as well as programs that are co-designed, implemented and overseen by youth.

Position Specifics

  • Hiring Salary: $61,000/year
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Location: North Minneapolis
  • Hours/Days: Mon-Fri 9-5

BASIC FUNCTION

This position is responsible for the overall staff and program management of The Link’s POWER Program. The Link’s POWER Program is a trauma informed case management and group program for girls 14-24 on probation in Hennepin County. The program’s goal is to appropriately address girl’s needs in the community to prevent further involvement in the juvenile justice system. The Program Manager ensures efficient operation of programming that is consistent with The Link’s mission, goals, and objectives and funding compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and manage the staffing and program requirements of The Link’s POWER Program
  • Participate in the management and program operations of the POWER Program
  • Provide oversight and supervision to case management staff to support goal progress and client participation and engagement
  • Provide oversight and supervision to the group programming to support a gender specific, trauma informed, holistic program that addresses the needs of girls

  • Support and provide training to staff on various models of service implementation in a gender specific program for girls on probation
  • Ensure program follows funding requirements
  • Write reports and compile statistics for funders and other key stakeholders in a complete, accurate, and timely manner
  • Assess, researches, and implements program improvement and expansion
  • Ensure that the program operates within budget guidelines.
  • Maintain a work environment that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse workforce of top quality people
  • Create and maintains community relations appropriate to the fulfillment of agency priorities and objectives.
  • Develop collaborations and referral process for services beyond the scope of The Link
  • Arrange and participates in speaking engagements
  • Participate in committees as appointed internally and in the community.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of community resources for girls
  • Desire to continuously learn for personal and professional growth
  • High level of personal and professional integrity, including ability to protect and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively with and relate to diverse populations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and writing
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize, coordinate, track and complete multiple tasks as well as adjust to changing priorities
  • Computer application proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ACCESS and other data systems
  • Experience with office equipment, such as photocopier, fax, typewriter, etc
  • Clean driving record and no criminal background
  • Schedule is based on program needs and will require some evening hours

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA degree in related field and at least 2 years of experience working with youth in the juvenile justice system or at least 5 years of experience working with youth in the juvenile justice system
  • Experience working with girls in a trauma informed manner
  • Experience with case management and group facilitation
  • Knowledge of the juvenile justice system

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • The employee is frequently required to use manual dexterity for use of objects, tools or controls as well as visual acuity
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Work environment for this position includes offices, common and community spaces with a low to high noise level
  • Requires ability to drive
