Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality physical education instruction to high school males grades 9-12
  
• Engage students in activities that promote healthy and active lifestyles throughout their lives
  
• Ensure the physical education curriculum develops character, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  
• Continuously evaluate and innovate the curricula in alignment with the New York State Education Department standards
  
• Provide regular progress reports to students and families
  
• Contribute to the professional community and embody school culture

Qualifications:

• At least one year of successful teaching experience (Preferred)
  
• Demonstrated success raising the achievement of urban students
  
• Ability to form strong relationships with students
  
• Creative, flexible self-starter who is comfortable taking the initiative in a demanding, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience in presentations, process facilitation, problem solving, and relationship building
  
• Ambition to go above and beyond the requirements of the job to innovate in education
  
• NYS Physical Education Teaching Certificate

School is year-round with regular breaks
