Summary of Duties: Under the immediate supervision of a Parks Supervisor, Foreman or a Crewleader perform skilled and semi-skilled work related to maintenance and renovation of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways, and landscape.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform duties in support of development and maintenance of parks, pools, grounds, restrooms and sport fields e.g., mowing, edging, fertilizing, seeding, pruning, planting, and/ or removing weeds, trees and shrubs, clearing right-of-way areas and drainage with appropriate equipment.
• Paint, repair and refurbish fixtures, signs, equipment and other miscellaneous items as needed.
• Gather and dispose of debris, wood, trash, limbs, weeds, grass, trees, shrubs, plants and dead animals.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, sod cutters, chainsaws, tree trimmers and chippers, air compressors, backhoes, farm tractors, forklifts, and other various hand and job related power tools.
• Participates in emergency response teams.
• Safety sensitive position subject to the Random Drug Screen Policy.
• Must meet and maintain the requirements of the driver safety policy.
• Employee may be required to work special events on nights, weekends or holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience: Operate and maintain lawn mowers, lawn edgers, brush/tree trimmers and chippers, air compressors, backhoes, farm tractors, vehicles up to 26000 GVWR, various hand and job related power tools. Entry level knowledge of construction, carpentry work, and landscape installation/maintenance.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
