The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including, the United States Space Force, the Department of the Air Force, the Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation.
Space Enterprise and Warfighting Division, Space Security Technologies Department provides high-quality analytical support to the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) and the USSF’s Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), advising the Government on the design of future space forces to win the next war.
This position requires 100% onsite work in the office, in classified spaces, and is not eligible for telework. This role is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
What You'll Be Doing
  • The duties include providing direct technical support to SSDP’s Multi-Domain Effects Division, coordinating with division customers and personnel, as well as SSDP Mission Partners.
  • You will participate in and lead teams of program office and ETG personnel to solve difficult problems for the customer.
  • You will be responsible for communicating technical solutions to users who do not necessarily have detailed space expertise.
  • This position requires travel, up to 25% of the time.
What You Need To Be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technical subject area
  • 6 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a program office environment
  • Deep technical knowledge of at least one of the following topics: orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, launch systems.
  • Experience working on at least one DoD or IC space or ground program
  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working with customer and contractor personnel
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and have a proven track record of working with minimum supervision and to interact effectively with other subject matter experts, Space Force personnel, SETAs, other FFRDCs, and contractor personnel.
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph. This is issued by the U.S. Government, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Current SAP/SAR clearances.

  • Deep technical knowledge of all the following topics: orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, launch systems.
  • Familiarity with Engineering and Technology Group modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities.

  • Experience working as part of a geographically distributed team

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
