POSITION TITLE: Human Resource Generalist


POSITION OBJECTIVE: Supports core human resource functions through administrative and strategic continuous improvement. Leads recruiting and staffing strategies to attract and retain talent for organizational support and growth. Supports organizational development, compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, safety, training, performance, and change management.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the continuous improvement of procedures and policies within the organization
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure legal compliance of state and federal regulations of applicable employment laws, government reporting regulations and assist in updating of policies and/or procedures as required.
  • Supports employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assists in the development, facilitation, and implementation of all phases of the recruitment and internship program.
  • Collaborates with leaders to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and competencies.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Assists with job posting, advertisement processes, utilizing community contacts, promoting referrals, and using other creative methods.
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Assists with full cycle recruiting and interview process, attending and conducting interviews with leaders, directors, and other members of the organization.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Responsible for managing recruiting events, establishing partnerships, and creating a pipeline of positions.
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
  • Assist in administering payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
  • Supports training initiatives for all levels of the organization.
  • Supports leadership in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supports the performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Supports the compensation management program and surveys to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Supports safety programs and 6S objectives.
  • Support work compensation process
  • Support leave process and tracking
  • Supports employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews and stay interviews.
  • Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support continuous improvement and change management.
  • Support leadership in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment and retention.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn learning management software (LMS)
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software (ATS) or other recruitment systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

EDUCUATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • Three to five years’ experience working full cycle recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.
  • HR Certification (e.g., PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

PAY RANGE: 68000-103000
