POSITION SUMMARY:
The Geriatric Clinic Coordinator/RN isresponsible for supervision of operations in the Villa Marin clinic under the direction of the Medical Director and Health Care Administrator. Practices as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act, Title XXII and OBRA Regulations. Renders professional nursing care to residents of Villa Marin in the outpatient clinic, resident condos, for emergency calls and is the assistant to the clinic physicians.

SCHEDULE & WHAT WE OFFER:

· Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:00pm (Every fourth weekend on-call duty)

· Rate of Pay- · $100K to $125K – depending on license; RN, BSN.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

· Utilize the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating Nursing Care in a problem solving approach to meet the resident’s physical, psychological and social needs.

· Carries out physicians orders, consults with physicians for any changes in order and/or clarification of orders. Communicates with physicians and other health care team members regarding residents’ condition.

· Provide treatment and preforms procedures according to nursing scope of practice during outpatient service hours as established by physicians.

· Administers prescribed medications and treatments ensuring pharmacy policies and procedures are implemented. Follows through on medication orders by physician. Order medications daily from pharmacy after checking previous order date and distributes to residents as needed.

· Prepares Medisets and dispenses same to Condo residents. Calls and/or faxes pharmacies to ensure necessary medications are on hand to dispense to condo residents.

· Responds to emergency Condo situations and expedites necessary treatment.

· Collects all laboratory specimens and notifies laboratory for pick-up. Completes lab requisitions, monitors results, and follows up as needed. Responsible for delivery of lab results for SNF residents after printing in a timely manner.

WHAT TO BRING:
Knowledge of Title 22 and OBRA regulations, facility philosophy and policies. Ability to foster working relationship and build consensus. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and private information according to HIPPA guidelines. Must be licensed in California to practice as an RN or BSN, minimum of two + years of experience preferred. Ability to conduct self in a professional manner at all times. Desire to work with geriatric patients.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must meet health assessment required by the CA Department of Public Health as well as TB testing and fingerprint clearances required by the CA DSS/CCL. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing sufficient to perform the tasks required.
