We have an exciting role of Events & Ship Visits executive for Celebrity Cruises UK team. This role would be ideal for someone who have experience in events planning and now is looking for a step up in their career. It is a very varied role, no day would be the same and it would really suit someone who enjoys a challenge and is comfortable with presenting in front of large groups. Please note we are only able to consider candidates with full right to work in the UK. It is an office based role with hybrid working approach.

Position Summary:


This role is responsible for the end-to-end implementation of key event activities for Celebrity Cruises across the EMEA region. There is a wide variety of events with key focus on award ceremonies, internal conferences, ship launches, ship immersion programmes, along with other ad hoc events. The role is responsible for the strategic planning, project management, creative development, budget management and evaluation of events and is a high-profile role with significant visibility to the senior leadership team.


The role requires an innovative individual who can bring new ideas to the company that can raise both brand awareness and achieve revenue targets by delivering the required return on investment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create & oversee full calendar of Trade & Consumer events across the UK and EMEA
  • Evaluate potential events to understand ability to deliver against objectives and drive a commercial impact
  • Identify opportunities for events to support broader Marketing and Sale initiatives
  • Design & events, including, but not limited to, the annual Travel Agent Appreciation Awards, , large industry events, cruise and travel shows
  • Build & maintain good relationships with suppliers to stay ahead of event trends and ensure high standard events can be delivered

Execution

  • Support global events including ship launches, on board events, conferences, award ceremonies and charity events
  • Proactively engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including attendees, suppliers, internal and external teams to support the planning and delivery of your events and programmes.
  • Conduct and oversee site visits with suppliers during event development phase (i.e., production/ catering walk-through’s etc)
  • Set, communicate, and maintain clear roles and responsibilities on all projects. Manage any cross-functional teams where required
  • Create detailed project plans to follow for both specific events, and on-going programmes (e.g. ship visits), identifying key milestones and communicating clearly to all stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate staffing lists, duties, responsibilities and communication of all events including any training ahead of events where necessary
  • Ensure necessary travel is organised for attendees including flights, manifests etc.
  • Work alongside the PR and brand teams to ensure we maximise all opportunities driven by events
  • Be the key organiser on the day of events and on call during events that do not require attendance. Note: This will required some out of hours work
  • Manage all collateral and branding requirements, working closely with the Brand Marketing Team
  • Full responsibility for project budgets, including forecasting, raising POs, supplier set-up, identify cost efficiencies.

Measurement & Communication

  • Maintain and demonstrate a high level of informed, strategic industry knowledge, and present to Senior Leadership teams when required
  • Ensure all events have a robust evaluation plan. Report on ROI and key learnings for each individual activity undertaken, ensuring continual learning and process improvements are embedded. Where events form part of a programme, ensure that learnings and feedback are captured on-going to drive efficiencies and improvements
  • Report regular updates to key stakeholders proactively and in a structured way
  • Input into annual PR & Events planning

Financial Responsibilities:


  • Manage annual events budget of c£250K
  • Work closely with FP&A team to ensure spend forecasts are accurate
  • Forecast & measure return on investment for all activities

  • Event management systems – experience in e-registration systems such as salesforce

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience as an established Events Executive (or similar level role) within a high-pressured or fast-paced environment
  • Large matrix organisation experience preferable
  • Previous experience in travel industry would be beneficial but not essential
