    Maine Behavioral Healthcare’s Ed Tech III's are paid a starting rate of $20.75, increasing with experience or the RBT certification once achieved!


    Position Summary
      Under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher and the Clinical Director of the Autism and Developmental Disorders Partial Hospital Program, the Special Education Technician III works as a member of the education and behavioral treatment team of the Partial Hospital Program to provide designated instructional services to meet the academic, behavioral and daily living needs of our students. The partial hospital program is housed at Spring Harbor Hospital and provides a 6 hour treatment, 5 days a week, for youth with autism and developmental disorders who are having emotional or behavioral challenges.
    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • 90 credit hours required
    • Post high school study in educationally related field preferred
    • 2+ years of experience working with children or youth with developmental disorders, mental health disorders, and/or behavior problems in school, hospital, or residential setting
    • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to student patients through the formative years (ages 5 – 20) with consideration of variable cognitive abilities, human development stages, and cultural patterns
    • Willing and able to learn and appropriately apply physical restraint for the purpose of maintaining the safety of students and others
    • Certification from the Maine Department of Education with a minimum of 90 credits in approved study
    • Willing to drive a hospital van as needed to pick up/drop off students from the program
