Job Details:

Jogan Health is looking for Surgical Tech CVOR for a temporary assignment in Boulder, Colorado. The Surgical Tech CVOR assists the registered nurse in the intra-operative care of the surgical patient by the performance of routine and delegated duties according to the policies and procedures of Boulder Community Hospital.

Title: Surgical Tech CVOR
Location: Boulder, CO
Pay Local: $39/hr
Pay Traveler: $41.50/hr + Travel Stipend + $55 Per Diem days worked + Lodging Provided
Hours: 40hr/week
Contract Type: 13-week assignment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated physical and mental ability to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice

Responsibilities:

• Meet all requirements of Surgical Tech.
• Proficiently scrub all complex procedures listed in Surgical Technologist job description as well.
• Take an active role, under the direction of the Clinical Service Lead while the Service Coordinator is on vacation/off work, ensuring instruments and equipment are available to their specialty service for use.
• Demonstrate knowledge in the care and handling of instruments, sutures, and other operating room equipment to decrease damage and promote longer equipment life.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of surgical asepsis.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by preparing and passing of instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies needed during the operative procedure.
• Assists the RN in the delivery of care to the intra-operative procedure.
• Demonstrates proper handling of specimens.
• Consults with and/or advises appropriate personnel of instrument or equipment needs requiring follow-up or attention.
• Utilizes physician preference cards and inventory lists to accurately organize equipment and supplies for operative surgical procedures.

Qualifications:

• Colorado Registration is required
• Certification preferred
• BLS certification required
• One to two years experience in an acute care setting preferred
• 1-2 years experience is required
• CVOR Experience Required
