Coordinator, IT Asset/Req/Logistics - Central Campus

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with clients to identify, specify, negotiate, and document requirements of new IT asset requests with alignment to standards and projects.
  • Organize multiple ITS teams to evaluate, approve, procure, and fulfill IT asset requests.
  • Facilitate the distribution of requirements, and ensure stakeholders remain informed.
  • Establish demand forecasts and refresh schedules that meet stakeholder and IT Service Level Agreement requirements and timeframes.
  • Stage the pickup and deployment of assets within tickets and against existing inventory after approval. Facilitate answers to questions and handling of escalations required for successful deployments.
  • Monitor outstanding asset purchases, coordinate delivery to approved locations, expedite deliveries when necessary, and ensure stakeholder parties are appropriately notified upon receipt or need for escalation.
  • Organize IT asset disposals between vendors and asset custodians to ensure ITS, Fixed Assets, and other College records are adequately maintained and assets are appropriately disposed.
  • Drive between district locations to deliver or pick up items, or to audit specific area inventories.
  • Promote IT asset management best practices within the organization, recommend asset management policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods.
  • Maintain current knowledge on IT asset management better practices, tools, risks, and opportunities. Investigates and recommends new methods to intake and fulfill asset requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of classifications and manufacturers of IT hardware and software.
  • Highly organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite; possessing strong organizational skills using Outlook and working with large datasets in Excel.
  • Meet guidelines as an acceptable driver in accordance with SJC Policy VI-T Use of College Vehicles and the accompanying General Guidelines 2.15.
  • Knowledge of typical IT services; including desktop support, software delivery, digital communications, enterprise infrastructure and applications, and service desk.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    Minimum two (2) years of work experience related to managing IT assets; or three (3) years related to: business analysis, IT user support, IT procurement, or project management.
  • Valid Driver’s License or ability to obtain

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Business, Information Technology, or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in Higher Education.
  • Experience with Ellucian’s Banner Finance modules.
  • Experience with IT inventory and asset management tools. To include xAssets, Labstats, SCCM, CompuTrace, and Giva.
  • Experience using IT service ticketing solutions to fulfill, monitor, and respond to requests.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:

  • ITIL Foundations
  • IAITAM certification: CITAM, CHAMP, CITAD, CMAM, CSAM
