Computer User Support Specialist (Junior) – Part-Time/On-Call (PTOC)

Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking a Computer User Support Specialist (Junior) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals under a new five year enterprise service desk contract. This is an hourly non-exempt Part-Time/On-Call (PTOC) position with the possibility of moving to full-time in the future, located in Patuxent River, MD 20670. A ~3-4 week training program is required upon hire.

PTOC Computer User Support Specialists are called upon during surge needs or to backfill other full time specialists who are absent. Computer User Support Specialists can be called in to support any of the four main shifts: Core hour day shifts run anywhere from 6am-8pm Monday-Friday; weekend day shifts are Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6am-7pm; weekend overnight shifts are Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6pm-7am; and weekday overnight is Monday-Thursday 8pm-7am.

ROLES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical assistance to computer users.
  • Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically.
  • May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Less than three (3) years of experience performing work in the roles and responsibilities described above.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Customer service skills, preferably gained within a call center like environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirement.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable non-NISP or SECRET clearance (interim required to start).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Experience as a help desk specialist/agent within an enterprise environment.
  • Experience at NAVAIR National Help Desk.
  • Experience with Ivanti ITSM.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
This position is contingent upon customer approval of candidate.
