Must Haves:

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully fulfill the job requirements as summarized above.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with typical HVAC, electrical, and architectural systems. Trade school or industry experience a plus.
  • Willing to train promising candidates.
  • Proficient in general math skills.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance and consistently communicate in a clear, professional, and persuasive manner, both verbally and in written communications.
  • Availability to serve customer needs by responding quickly and potentially working overtime, varied shift hours, and out of town when needed.
  • This job requires the ability to climb, kneel, squat or work at high altitudes or confined spaces in order to deliver as-built drawings.
  • Competent and capable of maintaining basic computer requirements, including working with Microsoft Office and other common business and industry applications.

Pluses:

  • Professional Certifications or Technical Degree preferred

Day to Day:

This position provides an intermediate to high-level skill set in computer-aided design to create technical drawings of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural systems located on our sites. Responsible for the development of lower level technicians by creating a learning environment. Shares in responsibility of assignments of lower level technicians. Has an initiative to act or respond to issues or concerns and communicates best practices or lessons learned. The position requires an individual to work independently on complicated equipment and systems with minimal instruction and direction.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings and plans
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers on projects
  • Determine the proper size and materials for products
  • Add details to architectural plans
  • Ability to perform system walk downs and revise the master drawings.
  • Communicates revisions to site systems as needed.
  • Offsite training to improve systems and CAD knowledge
  • Train less experienced technicians to improve their CAD and team skills
  • Develops CAD management skills for larger scale projects, manages multiple projects simultaneously
  • Establishes improved CAD service
  • Expertise navigating drawing systems for multiple Sites
  • Expertise in creating P&ID's (piping & instrumentation diagrams) and PFD's (process flow diagrams)
  • Develops and Maintains CAD processes
  • Attends annual external CAD or other training
  • Coordinate closely with other construction trades such as electrical, mechanical, and temperature control contractors, as well as facilities engineers.
  • Follow all company, job site, and OSHA safety policies and practices.
  • Continually improve and develop advanced technical skills to better serve the customer, which may entail seeking out reference manuals and attending educational seminars

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
