Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated business analytics professional with a passion for problem solving and a strong desire to learn and innovate to join our growing team. The Uniform Data Submission (UDS) team supports semi-annual discount submission and annual Risk Adjusted PMPM (per member per month) submission to consultants, who then use the information to evaluate carriers for both prospective and existing client RFP’s. The UDS information is also used for several internal processes including competitive benchmarking and setting discount or trend guarantees.

This role will play a key role in researching and implementing methodology changes as a result of new insights. In addition, this role will be responsible for modifying/revamping the current toolset to enhance the accuracy/efficiency of the process, addressing current pain points expressed by matrix partners and performing ad hoc research and analysis of key discount changes.

Responsibilities

Proactively work with internal matrix partners to research and quantify actuarial methodology revisions to UDS and implement them in timely manner

Develop a thorough knowledge of systems, processes, and methodologies, and communicate to technical and non-technical audiences

Cultivate and maintain working relationships with all internal and external partners, including: Pricing, MedEcon, Competitive Intelligence, Underwriting, Sales, and External consultants

Support management by conducting in-depth research and analysis to respond to a range of internal/external inquiries

Review current tools available to matrix partners (MedEcon, Competitive Intelligence, Contracting and Market Actuaries), gather feedback on current gaps, and lead efforts to update/overhaul current toolset to be more accurate, interactive, and user-friendly

Develop and maintain documentation on process/tool changes, including any known issues

Assist in the education and training of new team members

Assist in the development of uniform risk adjusted PMPM data, reports, models and tools

Qualifications

4+ years' of experience in healthcare, analytics, informatics or reporting

General knowledge of healthcare insurance industry, terminology and systems preferred

Strong Access and Excel skills as well as experience building and maintaining models

Experience with SAS, SQL and/or Data visualization tools are highly desirable but not required

Motivated by opportunities for data discovery and problem-solving; adaptable and interested in learning new tools and data sources

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with technical and non-technical audiences

Able to independently prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines

Ability to develop working relationships with and engage stakeholders for input and feedback as appropriate

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 94,300 - 157,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
