Job Description

Our client, a leading condiments and sauces company, is currently seeking an accomplished Accountant to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Support accounting period close for areas of functional responsibility which may include preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis

2) Execute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures in the course of the monthly and quarterly close

3) Support internal and external audit requirements related to specifically assigned areas

4) Review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to ensure timely monthly close, accuracy of accounting entries and operational efficiency

5) Perform research and make recommendations for complex accounting scenarios

6) Assist in designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures and assist in internal control and process documentation

7) Participate in the ERP system implementation project

8) Assist in preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analyses for management reporting

9) Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members in delivering high-quality, decision-ready information to our business partners

10) Ensure the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance with internal policies and procedures

11) Maintain fixed asset schedule and process monthly depreciation entries

12) Ensure compliance with all government entities

13) Work with audit and tax partners to prepare an audited financial statement and income tax returns.

14) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the condiments and sauces industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in accounting
