Wraparound is a team-based planning process for families and youth with complex emotional and behavioral needs. The Valley Cities Wraparound team implements a high-fidelity model, honoring the phases, principles, and guidelines outlined by the National Wraparound Initiative.

The WISe Clinician will be responsible for providing intakes and ongoing mental health services for a caseload of up to 15 youth. Through a collaborative process with the client, family, and Wraparound team members, the Clinician will provide crisis services as needed and help clients identify their goals, needs, and resources in order to prepare for engagement in therapy. These services will be provided on an outreach basis, in a variety of community locations including the client’s home and school.

Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety

  • Provides therapeutic intervention to caseload of up to 15 youth and families. This may include individual therapy, family therapy, psychoeducation, and facilitation of therapeutic group
  • Orients and educates clients and their families by meeting them in and out of the office; explains the role of the WISe clinician; develops the recovery plan; assists clients in accessing crisis services when needed, including acute hospitalization when necessary
  • Participates in WISe Child & Family Team Meetings for each client, contributing to the development of the Cross-System Care Plan and Team Safety Plan
  • Attends meetings related to the client’s involvement in other child-serving systems, including school, juvenile justice, child welfare, primary care, or other related systems. Serves as an advocate for the youth in these meetings
  • Form effective working relationships with family members and all community providers, balancing differences in culture, agendas and priorities, and expectations. Maintain professional partnerships with all community providers.
  • Performs real world problem solving with the client, which will often require the clinician to work in the community to engage clients in services. This may include but is not limited to clients’ homes, hospitals, schools, and shelters

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MA Degree in the Behavioral Science field with relevant experience working with youth and/or families.
  • MHP status required
  • Licensure with State of Washington preferred.
  • Training in and experience delivering Evidenced Based Practices to youth, preferred.
  • Ability to transport clients. Reliable transportation for extensive South King County travel.
  • Pass required background checks.
  • Availability for a flexible work schedule, including evening and early morning appointments.
