Summary

The Web Content Manager reports directly to the Assistant VP, of Communications/Marketing and is responsible for ensuring Midwestern University websites are engaging, dynamic, and up-to-date. The Web Content Manager will be responsible for completing special projects which include leading architecture, implementing catalog software, supporting content migration, and maintaining and enhancing a range of digital products. This position will also develop and maintain site metrics and analytics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance a range of digital products, including but not limited to a new content management system for academic and clinic sites, catalogs, mapping, and digital publication software, Google Analytics, and Siteimprove.
  • Analyze existing site, and/or software capabilities to maximize potential use.
  • Collaborate with vendors to facilitate and maintain product integrations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and lead appropriate applications.
  • Provide technical leadership in the evaluation of digital solutions to meet stakeholder needs. Translate vision into technical requirements.
  • Complete special projects including leading architecture and implementing catalog software, supporting architecture design, content migration, functional QA testing, and related implementation needs for current website redesign and deployment.
  • Maintain the budget related to web maintenance tools and support.
  • Support CMS training for all users.
  • Develop relevant site metrics to evaluate website and funnel performance.
  • Develop, implement and manage multivariate tests to drive more qualified leads, track visitor journeys, and improve site structure/CTAs.
  • Leverage web analytics tools (Google Analytics, SiteImprove) to provide data-driven recommendations to improve usability and website engagement in support of KPIs.
  • Evaluate organize and paid methods to improve SEO/SEM strategies.
  • Monitor engine performance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to the CMS as needed; troubleshoot more complex template and technical issues.
  • Manage Web Support Specialists.
  • Chair Web Committee comprised of Web Team and CMS editors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or related field. At least 5 years’ experience managing large high traffic websites on content management systems, preferably Drupal. Must have prior experience as a team leader or supervisor. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Prior experience managing enterprise digital products and providing complex system troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have experience working across a multidisciplinary team and have the ability to align technical solutions to stakeholder requirements.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) required. Experience with content management systems required, Drupal is preferred. Must have prior experience with Google Analytics, Siteimprove or similar analytical software or applications.

Language Skills

Intermediate skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Intermediate skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mathematical Ability

Basic skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
