Your areas of responsibility:

The Warehouse Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, is responsible for leading a team of five warehouse operators, functions, tasks, and coordinating daily shipments to ensure the efficient operation of the Kansas City, KS warehouse.

  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Gathering data which may include weight, dimensions, tracking information for small packaging, OTR (over the road), LTL, international and special notations regarding frieght, international shipment, hazardous materials, fragility, or packing instructions.
  • Contact logistics regarding pick up from Kansas City plant to arrange for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Conduct employee safety/ communication meetings.
  • Ensure all team members follow Fuchs safety policies, work rules, and SOPs.
  • Provide and/ or coordinate training for team members and assist in the continuous development of the training program.
  • Communicate internally with Sales, Customer Solutions, Supply Chain, and Operations on status and urgency of shipments.
  • Meet daily to review SAP shipping reports.
  • Coordinate movement between the Kansas City plant and local 3rd party warehouse.
  • Unload and process import containers.
  • Manage the finished goods portion of semi-annual inventory.
  • Manage the inventory process; receiving, cycle count, investigate discrepencies and request adjustments as necessary.
  • Compare shipment detail information to an invoice, bill of lading, and purchase order.
  • Process pick tickets and expedite requests for assignment, to prepare warehouse for shipping.
  • Identify and implement process improvements as it relates to the warehouse and shipping.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree desired.
  • 5+ years of experience in a transportation or warehouse management role.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team and being held accountable to KPI‘s
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Highly organized, detailed orientated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment (accuracy, timeliness, reliability, adaptability, and responsiveness).
  • Able to openly communicate on all levels of management, customers, and carriers.
  • Strong data and analytical skills.
  • High MS Office proficiency required. SAP experience required.
  • Working knowledge, experience or certifications related to DOT/IATA/Dangerous Goods a definite plus.
