Overview:
  • Chenega Global Protection is seeking a Security Escort/Visitor Control Center Specialist to support the Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Office of Security. This individual will conduct security inspections of visitors and their belongings for weapons and other prohibited items. The position requires the use of hand-held metal detectors in addition to physical searches of belongings, baggage and/or equipment. Additionally, this role will be required to verify visitor clearance eligibility and use the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NCMI) as needed.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain sight of all personnel in order to observe and monitor visitor actions, activities and movements.
  • Escort any Facility Maintenance personnel while inside the facility.
  • Escort all non-cleared visitors, personnel, vendors, janitorial/maintenance crews without the appropriate security clearances.
  • Assist with vendor deliveries during operating hours, to include escorting food service deliveries.
  • As needed, the Security Escort will escort VIP personnel
  • As required, the Security Escort will assist with Random Antiterrorism Measures, to include ID card checks at facility access control points.
  • Assist with escorting material containers to and from shred vehicles during controlled unclassified information shred events.
  • Verify access eligibility and provide appropriate levels of access to cleared visitors, uncleared visitors, seated or unseated contractor support, foreign nationals, or new/existing employees.
  • Use the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NCMI) as part of assigned daily duties.
  • Verify an individual’s clearance eligibility or visit access request before determining the appropriate access to NAVSEA headquarters facilities.
  • Maintain inventory of government provided badging supplies and provide appropriate request documentation when nearing depletion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • Demonstrated experience performing security escort and visitor control duties.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience.
  • Required to adhere to all government agency guidelines as it applies to COVID vaccine Attestation/Restrictions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Be able to maintain composure under stressful situations.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
