JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible to ensure that proper documentation is received from customers regarding DEA “Know Your Customer” process. Review pending orders in the Suspicious Order Monitoring (SOM) system, and make informed procedural decisions to release orders based on size, frequency, and pattern of controlled substance orders to comply with Federal DEA requirements. Verify applicable Federal and/or State licensing documentation for customers ordering prescription products. Review and activate new customer accounts and review potentially fraudulent orders and communicate with external departments as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 50% Review pending controlled substance orders in the SOM system to ensure compliance. Ensure that proper documentation is received from customers regarding the “DEA Know Your Customer” process. Conduct due diligence to ensure that pending orders are appropriately released. Verify applicable Federal and/or State licensing documentation for customers ordering prescription products. Review and activate new customer accounts and review potentially fraudulent orders.
  • 30% Responsible for customer phone calls to obtain additional information regarding their controlled substance orders, and clearly document the system with all pertinent information.
  • 15% Effectively communicate due diligence information to management, customers, Sales and other internal departments.
  • 5% Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

  • Very good telephone etiquette and effective dispute resolution.
  • Proficient in applicable computer systems.
  • Good procedural decision making skills.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 2 or more years of related experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
General education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training.
TRAVEL/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Office environment. No special physical demands required.
COMPENSATION:
The posted range for this position is $36,000 - $63,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
This position is eligible for an incentive not reflected in the posted range.
