Make an Impact as a Child Care Business Operations Coach

You will serve as part of a team that will plan, schedule, and implement activities to support Texas Rising Star certification and implementation of best practices in early learning programs. The Child Care Operations Business Coach will provide specific coaching and support via onsite and/or virtual visits to directors/administrators of early learning programs.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Provide individualized support to child care business operators and administrative staff.
  • Develop technical assistance and training that is responsive to the needs of the owners and directors in the childcare industry.
  • Will provide coaching in the areas of business plans, market feasibility, budgeting, operations management, setting rates and other areas identified.
  • Connect with child care programs to workforce development opportunities available at local Workforce Centers, Small Business Center and other support as needed.
  • Aid with rate setting, marketing, recruiting and collections.
  • Assist in training of utilizing a business management system.
  • Conducts follow up coaching and observations to administrative staff after attending professional development sessions to support implementation of new skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct monthly Business focused sessions.
  • Provide monthly Business trend report.
  • Provided monthly coaching to early learning program administrators participating in special projects focused on business practices, and business management software. Sets goals for participants and provides coaching to help ensure content mastery, appropriate use, and successful goal completion.
  • Assist providers in developing individualized Business Improvement Plans
  • Publish Business contend for monthly newsletter.
  • Gathers and tracks data on all projects and reports outcomes.
  • Participates in activities for support through professional development, meetings, conference calls, virtual meetings, and on-site visits as needed.
  • Able to work occasional evenings & weekends as needed.
  • This is an in-office position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Child Care Director, Assistant Director or in a capacity that can meet the responsibilities above.
  • Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and active listening & communicative skills.
  • Flexible and detail-oriented; Ability to resolve complaints and problem solve successfully using resources. Results driven.
  • Excellent computer and typing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel required. Skills testing required.
  • Experience with and ability to communicate using technology and virtual platforms including Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc. Skills testing required.
  • Ability to learn and use CRM program to document work and data as well as generate reports.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously; Scheduling flexibility is required.
  • Able to work in a team environment and be a team player; Possess efficient organizational and time management skills.
  • Must promote a positive work environment and have prompt and regular attendance.
  • Must have strong ethics and keeps information in a strict confidential manner.

Equipment
  • Computer, telephone headset, fax, scanner, and general office equipment

Travel and Compliance
  • Minimal travel is required
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
  • Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
  • Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements required for federal funding

  • Work requires normal physical effort with minimal lifting requirements of items weighing less than 25 pounds
