JOB SUMMARY

Hand of Healing’s Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the Director of Education and Training and Planning and Development. This role will ensure a safe, caring and productive atmosphere for all HOH programs which include the Youth Program and the Foster Care Program.

Essential Functions:

  • Reports to and is responsible for the completion of tasks assigned to him/her by the Director.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining training records as well as gathering and organizing training resources for current and future trainings.
  • Develops visual aids and training materials and develops, updates and submits training absence reports.
  • Responsible for the archiving of programmatic record for all HOH programs to include Programmatic Team monitoring visits, DFPS inspections and monitoring, city and county inspections and copies of permits issued by DFPS.
  • Assist with CPR/First trainings and other trainings (as requested), keeping accurate and concise records.
  • Handle administrative tasks which include but is not limited to data entry, answering phones, scanning, copying and any other related duty.
  • Maintain office by ensuring it run efficiently, which includes ordering of supplies
  • Provide support with correspondence, records, reports, files for all HOH programs.
  • Maintain records of monitoring visits.
  • Attend all organizational required trainings
  • Able to react professionally and productively to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing.
  • The ability to write concisely.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Cleared drug test results (this one is for Texas programs only).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to bend, lift, seize, hold, or otherwise work with hand or hands.

Must be capable of expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

This position involves sitting and may involve walking or standing for periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Computer use as needed for training or documenting. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
