Job Description
To perform skilled repair and maintenance tasks, as assigned by the maintenance supervisor, in maintaining the mechanical, structural, electrical and plumbing components of the assigned building and grounds.

Type of Recruitment

Knowledge, skills and abilities
General technical knowledge of primary building maintenance. Working skill in the use of a variety of diagnostic tools, instruments, equipment, hand and power tools. Ability to make repairs to electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural building components, and grounds independently.

Special licenses, registration or certification
Valid Virginia drivers license and an insurable record.

Some experience performing general work in a variety of trades areas.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Some maintenance experience in the higher Education environment. Some computer usage skills desired.

Conditions of Employment
Facilities Management employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during university closings.
