Job purpose

This individual is responsible to drive incremental sales by acquiring and developing both Mitsubishi and Ruud dealers in these markets. To communicate and implement dealer marketing programs that drive sales at the dealer level.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Focus on Mitsubishi and Ruud equipment sales serving the Rochester markets calling on HVAC/R equipment contractors only to promote sales growth by building relationships with existing dealers and prospecting for new customers.
  • Grow sales of existing dealers while acquiring new ones within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain a list of target prospect accounts that includes key data on each dealer such as volume potential, current brand sold, and key personnel.
  • Analyze differences among our competitors and demonstrate Meier Supply Co., Inc’s value proposition.
  • Construct and maintain strategic annual sales plan that is designed to acquire and develop new dealers and sales in each market covered.
  • Understand each customer’s individual business needs to build relationships and sales.
  • Maintain a 4-day schedule of customer calls with one day used for administrative reasons. Typical day would include 6-8 sales calls per day.
  • Provide a weekly agenda of scheduled call and report sales calls weekly using I-Roam software.
  • Maintain strong communication with HVAC Division Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and Branch Managers.
  • Quarterly reviews to be held with HVAC Division Manager to monitor and evaluate current dealer sales performance, progress of dealer prospecting, and progress and annual sales plan.
  • Analyze the territory, develop, execute and monitor sales programs.
  • Maintain clear knowledge of all Ruud and Mitsubishi dealer programs including warranty, financing, pricing, manufacturer websites, product information, marketing funds, utility programs, and the Meier Supply value offering, with the ability to articulate these to prospects and customers.
  • Determine and arrange training to meet the needs of customers.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Associates Degree or higher or 5 years of demonstrated performance history in HVAC Sales or new customer development.
  • Strong sales, communication, customer service, presentation, interpersonal & problem solving skills with a high sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to work independently and be an effective team player that works well with others.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, presenting, promoting and selling HVAC products and services including market strategy and tactics, and sales techniques.

Working conditions

Needs to maintain a clean driver’s license.

Physical requirements

Primary responsibility is to make dealer and contractor sales calls. In rare occasions the individual may be asked to make an emergency delivery of equipment of parts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
