I BASIC FUNCTION
The Terminal Operator Analyst works at our Terminal in Channahon, IL reviewing practices and procedures, analyzing data, and creating reports. The Analyst will provide recommendations to improve Terminal operations and profitability.
II MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
1. Review Terminal Standard Operating Procedures
2. Identify any shortcomings or opportunities for improvement and recommend corrections for SOPs
3. Develop new projects to ensure optimal operational performance & output
4. Perform analysis for operational and financial performance and efficiencies 5. Prepare recommendations for Terminal Manager to enhance maximum efficiencies
6. Conduct market research and analysis
7. Prepare for audits; conduct audit tracking and close-out
8. Work directly with operations on packaging, inventory management, and document control
9. Perform other duties as required and directed by management.
10. Carry out the Business Philosophy, Code of Conduct, and Mission of Canal Barge Company, Inc.
III ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work alongside Canal’s Regulatory Manager to enhance knowledge of Terminal and Industry regulatory compliance activities
2. Participate in incident investigations on an as-needed basis to enhance knowledge of incident response, investigations, and corrective/preventive actions
3. Understand and implement document control requirements and procedures. 4. Gathers and analyzes company data and market research.
5. Interviews employees across departments to collect insights.
6. Writes monthly reports with key findings, analysis, and recommendations.
7. Recommends ways to increase revenue, decrease costs, and improve efficiency.
8. Presents reports periodically to decision-makers for their approval.
9. Helps departmental leaders implement new policies, procedures, and processes.
10. Works closely with the sales, marketing, finance, logistics and technology teams.

V ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Terminal Operations Analyst is appointed by and reports to the Terminal Manager.
VI EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Adept with basic research methods
2. Mastery of basic math and statistics
3. Proficient in Microsoft office including PowerPoint and other presentation platforms
4. Ability to present descriptions of findings to staff at varying levels in the organization
5. Ability to work independently
VII EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business-related major preferred
