Job Description:
· The Instrumentation Technician must be a hands-on person and is expected to set up, operate and maintain electronic laboratory instruments ,machines and test chambers, build and monitor experiments, make observations, perform basic calculations, record results and preferably be able to develop conclusions and follow through on resolution.
· Required to have good communication skills and be computer literate (word, Excel, outlook Email - a must).
· Individual should be familiar with basic scientific principles and has had a few years laboratory experience with electronics devices, electro-mechanical components such as small motors and pumps, chemicals and fluids.
· Experience with environmental temperature and humidity chambers or HALT chambers is a plus. Experience with Medical devices is a plus.
· Preferred Experience level is 10-15 years. Educational background in electronics, physics, mechanical or similar. Certification in soldering, crimping, electronics assembly, ESD, quality or reliability is nice to have. Personal attributes: Dependable, somewhat assertive, reasonably organized, resourceful and communicative with an ability to adopt and learn quickly as well as follow verbal and written instruction, detail oriented. Suggest improvements and follow through to completion. Knowledge programing in LabView is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works under direct supervision and independently to construct & perform experiments, research and test activities related to product reliability.
2. Use of electrical instruments, environmental chambers, hand tools, operate systems such as : medical devices, Benchtop power supplies, DMM, Oscilloscope, Crimp tools. solder iron, laptop, cameras, drills.
3. Sets up, operates, and maintains electronic laboratory instruments and equipment.
4. Report and follow up on issues, progress and seek help when needed, document progress.
5. Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment, tools, glassware, and lab areas.
6. Maintains laboratory inventory of consumables.
7. Interfaces with Metrology department, and ensures calibrated instruments are properly documented and submitted for calibration on time.
8. Use written material to help troubleshoot issues and perform tasks.
9. Build test experiment and run/program Labview test programs.
9. local travel may be required (up to 5%)

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
