JOB SUMMARY

This Systems Trainer role for the Pearl IT department is responsible for training and mentoring staff on business concepts, system functionality, and processes. The Trainer will develop and navigate staff through an on-boarding program as well as continue mentoring staff in collaboration with and under the direction of Pearl Enterprise Systems management. The role also requires that the Trainer continue to develop and utilize his/her technical skills to support Pearl’s system initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and maintain the development and continuous updating of a systems on-boarding, training program.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business system applications and interfaces.
  • Mentor and train business concept, system functionality, and processes to staff as directed by Management.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation including training curriculum by position and responsibility.
  • Collaborate with team members to gain a working understanding of all IT solutions identifying technical, functional, and process-based system concepts to serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Per Enterprise Systems management, conduct work in departments helping with support, testing, configuration, intake, coordination in order to have hands on experience with how things work to better understand the training and become a subject matter expert.
  • Evaluates and suggests process changes or improvements within the systems area to Enterprise Systems management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to business users and other staff as needed.
  • Work closely with Enterprise Systems Management to develop individual, technical training plans for continued improvements and career advancement of staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field; 2+ years’ experience training or working in software development or IT department; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with common software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Knowledge of and experience with common business analyst or project management concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interface with both technical and business team members at all levels within an organization.
  • Previous mentoring and/or training experience.
