Land Surveyor Technician

We are seeking to fill the position of Land Surveying Technician/GNSS Technician (Global Navigation Satellite System). This position is responsible for mapping vertical and horizontal control, boundary lines and required calculations and computations as well as ties to subdivisions, property lines and government land corners. GNSS Technician is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of jobsite surveys and calculations, assisting the daily performance of the field work on complex projects.

Additional DAILY responsibilities would include but not limited to:

· Localizing & setup of jobsites

· Jobsite layouts

· Checking jobsite control points for accuracy

· Updating software and firmware

· Measuring machine blades/buckets

· Recalibration of machines

· Troubleshooting and repair of machine control errors

· Tracking equipment

To be considered for the position, applicants MUST have:

· High school diploma/GED with preference for two-year degree from technical school OR Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field.

· 5+ years’ experience in Civil Construction industry.

· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in geolocating land parcels.

· MUST have valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

· MUST pass a drug screening & background check.

· MUST have general computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Windows OS, etc.).

· MUST have experience & be well versed using Topcon GPS Measuring Equipment & * Positioning Systems.

· Ability to lift 50+ lbs

· Capable of working outdoors on a daily basis.

· Be able to work within a team environment & independently.

· Knowledge and experience in methods, procedures and techniques including operation of optical, electronic, and GPS devices.

Eligible candidates MUST have working knowledge and well versed using the equipment listed below:

· Geopositioning Equipment: Topcon GR-5 (UHF GNSS Receiver), Topcon HiPer VR (UHF GNSS Receiver), Topcon FC-5000/FC-6000 (Data Collector), Topcon GT500 (Robotic Total Station), Topcon LZ-T5 (Laser Transmitter)

· Geopositioning Equipment Software: Topcon Pocket 3D, Magnet Field, TRU (Topcon Receiver Utility)

· Machine Control Equipment: Topcon MC-R3 (Machine Control Receiver), Topcon MC-X1 (Machine Control Receiver), Topcon GR-i3 (Integrated GNSS Receiver), Topcon GX-55 (Control Box), Topcon GX-60 (Control Box), Topcon GX-75 (Control Box), Topcon SL-100 (Sitelink Receiver), Topcon MC-i4 (Sitelink Receiver), Topcon X-53 (Machine Auto-Grade System)

· 8 Machine Control Components: Topcon TS-i4 (Tilt Sensors), Topcon G3-A1M (GNSS Antenna), Topcon PZS-MC (Machine Prism), Topcon Sonic Tracker II (Measuring Control Tool)

· Machine Control Software: Topcon 3D-MC, TRU (Topcon Receiver Utility)GNSS Technician
