The Support Services Team Lead works in a fast paced, production type environment performing a vital component of medical laboratory science. Receive on the job training for the pre‑analytical processing of medical samples.

Schedule: 1st Shift, Tuesday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

The following duties reflect key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes a positive teamwork environment.
  • Train staff members.
  • Must be available to perform the duties of the positions within the department as needed.
  • Acts as a point person in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Aids in monitoring daily workflow, delegates tasks to be ensure department goals are met.
  • Assists in writing work instructions and updating SOP’s.
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve issues that arise.
  • Assist with hourly/daily monitoring of department production.
  • Work with supervisor to determine staffing needs.
  • Research and recommend improvements to the processes currently in place.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of applicable experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written, verbal, and listening.
  • Proven ability to lead and direct staff; lead by example.
  • Ability to present constructive feedback in a positive manner.
  • Must be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills.
  • Must be able distinguish colors including shades of colors.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, computer programs such as Antrim, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive duties.
  • Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and rotate/turn with up to thirty pounds.
  • Able to work independently under general supervision.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • AA Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in a leadership role.

Knowledge of MedTox/LabCorp policies and procedures, HIPAA Regulations and Universal Precautions.
