SUMMARY: Provide support services to eligible clients via internal food pantry and clothing closet including maintenance, inventory and set up of all support services. Additionally, assist with supporting all prevention in-house and outreach services as assigned. Adhere to departmental goals, objectives, standards of performance, and policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with agency safety standards as well as agency Quality Improvement standards.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Director of Prevention and Community Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

1. Attend community meetings and networking events related to support services as a representative of the agency

2. Independently seek out and be responsible for continued community engagement opportunities that will enhance the internal provision of support services

3. Provide ongoing food pantry and clothes closet services to eligible clients during regular business hours as requested

4. Maintain inventory of and request supplies for the food pantry

5. Work collaboratively with volunteers to maintain food pantry and clothes closet inventory

6. Responsible for clean-up and trash disposal related to food pantry and clothes closet service provision; this is performed in conjunction with the building manager

7. Develop and maintain monthly reports as assigned

8. Responsible for monthly offsite delivery to Salvation Army or other community partners as assigned

9. Provide excellent customer service in order to reduce stigma often associated with needing support services

10. Assist with coordination of events surrounding national HIV/AIDS observance days.

11. Participate in public health and community events to disseminate information about HIV and increase awareness.

12. Attend meetings, conferences and trainings to expand knowledge of HIV and related topics in order to be current on emerging trends.

13. Actively participate in departmental strategic planning to assist with the development and implementation of strategies for providing continued services to the community.

14. Attend and/or complete periodic continuing education training as assigned.

15. Work collaboratively with prevention team members to further the goals of the prevention department as indicated in the organizational strategic plan.

16. Other duties as assigned

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

8. Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10) with proficiency in using Excel for reporting purposes.

9. Ability to utilize a multi-line telephone system.

10. Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.

11. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.

12. Must have access to transportation, cell phone and a valid driver’s license.

13. Must be able, or willing to learn how, to safely and responsibly drive a 26-foot mobile testing unit when assigned.

14. Must have clean driving record / pass an MVR check.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS (PROVIDED ON SITE AFTER PLACEMENT):

Basic HIV/AIDS (4 hours)

HIPPA and Security (1 hour)

500/501 Counseling and Testing Training (20 hours)

Rapid Test Training (i.e. SureCheck and Insti)

Mobile Unit safe driving

Ongoing training as available

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment will vary between regular office and outdoors based on duties assigned. Some offsite travel is required for short periods of time each week in order to make deliveries to community partners. Maximum hours per week will be 40.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires a large amount of standing and walking associated with the active provision of support services and prevention as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity needed for using a computer keyboard and printer.
