Summer Upward Bound Instructor Job at Missouri Southern State University

Missouri Southern State University Joplin, MO 64801

The Upward Bound Program is grant-funded through the U.S. Department of Education and works with high school students to help them prepare for post-secondary education. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete high school, and attend and complete post-secondary education. A significant part of our program is the five-week summer College Simulated Experience. During the summer CSE, students take high school level classes that will help prepare them for their next year’s classes as well as ACT prep. Classes are created with the idea of giving the students a jumpstart for the next school year. During the five weeks, students take classes during the day, live in the MSSU residence halls, and participate in activities similar to college students. The Upward Bound program at Missouri Southern serves approximately 70 students from 5 area high schools; Carl Junction, Carthage, East Newton, Joplin, and Webb City.
We are looking for dynamic teachers to teach part-time in the areas of Math and Fine Arts.
