JOB DESCRIPTION

Premier Aquatics is currently hiring Summer Camp Directors for our summer camp in Aliso Viejo that runs from mid-June to beginning of August. Both Camp Director positions will oversee Camp Counselor staff, in addition to the planning and direction of the summer camp programs.


SUMMARY

The Summer Camp Director will be responsible for planning an 8 to 9 week Summer Camp program that runs Monday through Friday, weekly. Planning will include daily structured activities for multiple age groups, weekly field trips, scheduling and training of Camp Counselor staff, and Camp Counselor staff payroll.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensure safety of all camp participants by enforcing the guidelines established by you and your Supervisor
  • Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate care as needed
  • Communicate and cooperate with your team of Camp Counselors
  • Plan daily activities that are learning-enriched for multiple age groups
  • Plan and book weekly field trips with transportation
  • Model enthusiasm and positivity at all times
  • Supervise groups of children- age varies from 2-15 years old
  • Provide feedback, or appropriate discipline, to camp participants and camp staff
  • Establish professional relationship with camp participants, community residents and camp staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have experience working with children of all ages.
  • Be able to commit to the full Summer Camp season (June to mid-August, with limited planning hours starting in February).
  • Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to learn.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must have ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours.
  • Obtain an American Red Cross CPR Certification within 30 days of your original offer date.

Preferred

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous experience with people with disabilities and/or special needs.
