Job Summary:
Urban Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced building Structural Engineer for light industrial, commercial, institutional, aviation, and/or rail infrastructure projects for our national design practice. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of steel and concrete design and analysis tasks for a wide variety of building and structure types. The successful candidate will work in a multi-discipline team environment with opportunity to grow with the team and with the company.
Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Prepare or check structural design calculations for a wide variety of structural projects including light industrial, commercial, aviation, and rail-transit projects
  • Contribute towards design development of complex building structural projects in collaboration with an array of specialty design disciplines and architects
  • Identify and understand the technical requirements of design projects and implement sound engineering principles to generate solutions
  • Identify, interpret, and apply appropriate design codes and standards to satisfy owner and jurisdictional requirements
  • Assess the condition of existing facilities and prepare remediation recommendations and plans
  • Generate design plans and supervise production of contract documents
  • Support production of project-related technical specifications, construction cost estimates, staging plans, and construction schedules
  • Obtain relevant education and training to develop special expertise in a selected discipline as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Master of Science (MS) in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.
  • 7-15 years of structural design experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and frame analysis software such as RISA, RAM, or STAAD.pro is preferred
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal, and management skills are required

Pay Rate: $80,000 - $125,000 / Year
(Pay dependent on experience and location)
