A Snapshot of Your Day

A day in the life of a co-op at Siemens Energy at the Pittsburgh Service Center could be many different things. That’s what makes this position so great. One day you may be working on a new tooling design in CAD and the next you may be on a flight to a job site to assist with an inspection. In this position, you will be expected to be flexible and be able to move back and forth on different projects as our business needs change.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Co-op will report to Development Manager and will work directly with our development group.
  • Perform research and compilation of best practices for use in training and in the field.
  • Assist and/or lead development of new applications or use in field service.
  • Organize testing and trials of new applications.
  • Participate in process reviews.
  • Help develop technical documentation of processes.

What You Bring

  • Must be enrolled as an engineering student in a four-year undergraduate computer engineering/computer science university program.
  • Deonstrated attention to detail
  • Coordinate and communicate with other employees; able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers and management.
  • 3.0 Overall GPA or higher.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

The Development Group at the Pittsburgh Service Center in Siemens Energy is focused on turning out the next generations of tooling and processes for the power industry. We focus on taking ideas and concepts and turning them to working prototypes and production tooling. There are always new challenges in applying the latest technology to build new safer and efficient tools to conduct field service.
