Staff Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department ($20K Hiring Incentive) Job at Hennepin Healthcare
SUMMARY
HCMC has a current opening for a Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department.
This position is a 0.9 FTE (6 shifts/ pay period), 12-hour shifts, Nights, Every Third Weekend.
A sign-on bonus ($20,000) is available for eligible external candidates (current employees, contract/temporary workers, and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the context of the Hennepin County Medical Center "Centered Around You" Patient & Family Centered Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:
- Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health
- Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care
- Alleviating suffering through nursing interventions and prescribed treatments
- Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
- Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
- Educating patient on their disease process
- Assuring continuity of care
- Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of current ICU and/or Emergency Department professional nursing experience (RN) required
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in area of clinical specialty
- BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
